If Wendy hadn’t brought up mundane stuff with Irene while they were in the dorm, we wouldn’t have known anything. Irene just isn’t the type to talk much. She did open up about Seulgi doing her youtube channel though so it really depends on the setting. She was comfortable talking to Hyo.

Instead reading those chinese rumors i suggest you guys should watch this vlog of Seulgi, esp her prespective about love and relationship. Sometime “late” not always seem too bad, as long as it’s the right timing

I thought her perspective about dating a long time friend was interesting. Normally I see people use the excuse that members wouldn't want to risk it with their friends or co-worker but people still date people they work with all the time irl and clearly seulgi doesn't seem very off put by the idea of dating someone you've been friends with for a long time as long as you feel the same. Of course there's the stuff about timing too and looking around you after having been closed off...but I suppose it's also very different in an idol situation depending on the background of the members/group.

I really do ship them a lot, I think they have great chemistry and would make a really cute couple and there's a lot that shippers can take to interpret in certain ways, but the "they're like my real family" or "real sister" talk does give me pause. I do think they've gotten closer in a real way since doing the subunit and I accept that we don't actually know them personally or know how they really feel or really behave around each other though so who knows. I'm always open to hearing different perspectives

tbh i don’t think too much about the “they're like my real family" or "real sister", i stan them over 10 years, since the SMRookies, somethings they said was their true feeling but others can be “scripts”, so you can’t only rely on what they said but you must see what they have done to each other, words can lie but actions can’t. I don’t think sister or family would say “let make memories just the two of us” and do the things like Jeju stuff. Well but the goodthing is, they are more comfortable and more honest about their feeling now.

Da the biggest signal for me of the breaking of hierarchy, esp coming from Seulgi who’s always said she’s uncomfortable with doing that with other older people. Family/sister def wouldn’t do that. Esp in that society.

Eh I don't necessarily agree. There's female korean celebs that do similar things with their friends. I think moreso it's other little stuff like the picture content itself that seulgi chose to take and share like the shoes picture or them by the windmill. exactly and it also just proves the point doesn’t it? yeri and irene are close and it shows in how openly fondly irene talks about her in general and in the movie. she can just easily talk about wendy with a similar fondness too (in my opinion the kind of affection she shows yeri and wendy are similar in a doting way which is why i don’t see the vision about wr romantically). but she always seems to have a prepared stock answer when it comes to seulgi which could mean nothing but it happens too often to not be sus especially given other indicators showing how close they really are

Anon you're replying to here, and yes I agree with you. Sometimes you can see it. Like when Seulgi brings up the past or their trainee days - even in the seulgi zip ep - I could feel Irene's mood shift to a more emotional one, like she blinks to stop from tearing up or other times you can tell she's getting emotional because of how small and soft her voice gets. She tends to get quiet/very pensive. It always makes me wonder what's going on in her head. She also seems so shy when she's being affectionate I totally get what Seulgi means when she says she's the warmest person when you get to know her. Initially Seulgi didn't strike me as very talkative but she actually rambles a lot their personalities are quite different.

It's kind of funny that whenever I post here, I’m in the minority. Before, I mentioned that I thought they might be a couple, while others disagreed, saying they didn’t see it. Now, because of what’s happened in the past few months, I’ve reconsidered my thoughts. I’ve realized that since the subunit came back, the majority now seems to think they’re suspicious. It’s just interesting to me. But I’m still not sure, because of how different Irene is. She’s a woman who wears her heart on her sleeve but Irene doesn’t really seem that smitten to me. I do think there’s something going on, but I’m just not sure where it’s going.

Yeah anon you get it. I could somewhat tell that she has this sensitive side but it's like she doesn't want people to notice too much. In Irene's contents, whenever she gets excited too, she becomes so animated and it's so cute. Her highs are quite exaggerated at times. So there's a possibility that when she talks about Seulgi, she's keeping herself in check (i.e. her stock answers) so she would not get so emotional. As mentioned, she could've talked about Seulgi the way she talks about Yeri but didn't. It was also been mentioned that Seulrene's relationship are deeper as confirmed by them on Idol theater
